Ed Verity was named one of the first winners of Pro Landscaper’s 30 Under 30: The Next Generation Award. This recognition reflects a career built on the tools and across nearly a decade of London commercial landscaping, including the roof gardens at Battersea Power Station. He founded Edison Ernest to return to high-end garden construction with a small, hands-on team.

The Surrey Garden

Designed in house as a contemporary country garden, pairing warm clay pavers and pale Spanish limestone with rusted corten steel. A staggered path of limestone stepping stones threads through the lawn to a gravel seating area, framed by raised corten planters and layered perennial planting.

The Hampshire Garden

A challenging triangular plot with tight access, transformed into a layered evening garden. Built from a design by Harriet Kingsford Garden Design, the space pairs broad stone paving with a gravel seating area and lawn, framed by corten steel raised beds, festoon lighting and abundant planting.

The Hambledon Garden

A challenging curved Egyptian limestone patio set with brick detailing and bespoke corten steel retaining walls. Built from a design by Harriet Kingsford Garden Design, the sweeping terrace wraps around raised corten planters, a tiered pebble path and a circular brick inlay beneath the dining area, all softened by layered perennial planting.

The Cheam Garden

Built from a design by Berrie Garden Design, this Cheam garden pairs pale grey riven limestone paving with contrasting rusted corten steel. Wide limestone steps and coping stones run against bespoke corten retaining walls and planters, opening the terrace onto a level lawn beside the house.

The Barnes Front Driveway

Designed in house and built as a new front driveway and approach, combining a durable resin-bound surface with reclaimed and new sawn yorkstone paving. Bespoke Torc pots anchor the planting, set against new low-level lighting and an irrigation system that keeps the frontage crisp year-round.

The Wimbledon Garden

Built from a design by Shelley Hugh Jones, this Wimbledon garden turns a small, unusable sloped area into a sequence of usable landings. Dark clay paviors form the steps and terraces, with gravel landings breaking up the levels and small planting inserts cut into the paving to soften each space. Gabion retaining walls hold back the slope and frame the route down through the garden.

The Great Missenden Pool Garden

An old swimming pool given a new lease of life on a challenging hillside site. The build terraces the slope with a mix of pale sandstone paving, hardwood decking and retaining gabion cages, tying the renovated pool to a new timber garden room and layered planting.
